How the leaves came down.

Susan Coolidge (1835 - 1905) was an American poet and novelist whose real name was Sarah Chauncey Woolsey. Born in Ohio to a wealthy family, she enjoyed reading and writing as a child but did not pursue a career in writing until her mid-thirties. Susan is best known for What Katy Did, a young adult novel based on the author and her siblings.

The poem ‘How The Leaves Came Down’ beautifully narrates the shedding of leaves during the fall season.

The children of Grade 4, had activities paired with the poem, and the results were magical, just like the season they learnt about. Here's a small glimpse of what the 4th Graders go through with each lesson learnt. Enjoy.
